Ex-Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has been tipped for the vacant manager job at Celtic. The Scottish Premiership giants are on the search for a new permanent manager ahead of next season.

Celtic need a new manager for the new season after former player Neil Lennon resigned earlier this year in his latest spell as manager.

Eddie Howe was tipped for the Celtic job by former Rangers and Everton centre back Alan Stubbs in an interview with The Sun. According to Stubbs, Howe is the right man for the job.

A lot of big names have been linked with the Celtic job. Apart from the aforementioned Howe, Manchester United legend Roy Keane, Chelsea legend Frank Lampard and ex-Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner have all been touted as the next manager at Celtic after Neil Lennon.

Howe is widely regarded as one of the brightest young managers in English football and he has been without a managerial job since leaving Bournemouth at the end of the last campaign.

He left the Cherries shortly after masterminding their demotion to the English Championship from the top flight.

The former Bournemouth led the club to the Premier League for the first time many years ago and he had done a good job in keeping them in the division until last term when the club suffered relegation on the final day of the season despite the win at the home of Everton. Aston Villa secured a 1-1 draw at West Ham United to stay up and send Bournemouth to the English Championship.

Since leaving Bournemouth at the end of last season, Eddie Howe has appeared as a pundit on the Premier League TV several times.
