Inter Milan and Celtic FC have been pitted together in the Europa League as those clubs are some of the last 32 that are still alive and competing in the European tournament.
In terms of which team has won the won the Champions League or the Europa League on most occasions, the Italian side Inter Milan certainly does have the edge however, when you compare how both teams have been performing in the last few weeks then Celtic has an advantage as the Scottish team is on their way on winning their 4th successive domestic league title meanwhile Inter Milan is struggling in the middle section of Serie A.
Celtic sealed their 5th consecutive victory in the Scottish League after claiming a 3-0 triumph over Partick Thistle as the club is on dominating form and the manager Ronny Deila believes that his team can pull off a stunner and knockout Inter Milan from the Europa League when they meet each other on February 19 and 26.
The 39 year old Norwegian manager of Celtic said: “Everything is possible and we have everything to play for.We will have to be at our best in both games to, hopefully, go through.
“It’s going to be a very good match and I’m really looking forward to it.We are meeting a big opponent but we always have a chance.I know Roberto Mancini is their manager now, that they have beenstruggling a bit for the last year or two and aren’t the team they were in2010 when they won the Champions League. But they are a good team and it’s going to be a tough game.’’
Deila is hoping that his squad can take full advantage of the recent slump that Inter Milan is experiencing and take them out of the European competition but even with the recent setbacks that the Italian side is suffering, he is expecting their opponents to deliver a tough battle in the pitch when they face off.
